1. Open a new canvas. 500 x500. With the path drawing tool, 2D custom shape, heart shape. Draw a heart aprox. 160 x 160. Color red. Take the paint brush tool, set it to size 1, soft edge 0 color black, and while your heart is still active, paint on edges. Shift+P. Duplicate this heart and sent it to the back of the first one. Arrange them like this. 
2. With the burn tool, burn the one behind just a bit along the top. Merge as single object. Now take the pathdrawing tool, 3D , rectangle, border2, depth30 and draw a rectangle aprox. 15 wide 40 long. Add a gold or copper preset to it. I used copper 4 from the easy palette. To make the keyhole, take the pathdrawing tool, 2D , color black rectangle, and draw a tiny rectangle. With the pathdrawing tool, shape circle, draw a circle for the top of the rectangle. Merge as single object. It should look like this, 
3.You can use the transform tool to make it really small to fit on the gold rectangle you made in step 6. You should now have this. 
4. To make hinges and a clasp for the heart, take the path drawing tool, and custom shape , pick the joined circle. 
5.Make a tiny shape for the hinge. Use the same copper preset you used for the the keyhole. 
With the eraser tool, erase the bottom so just a bit of the top is left. 
Duplicate this , and line them up on the left side of your heart. Like this. 
Now take the path drawing tool, custome shape , triangle A08 
and make a tiny little clasp for the heart. Use the same preset as you used for the hinges. Place this on the right side of the heart. 
The Key. To make the key , take the path drawing too, rectangle, 2D,any color. Make a rectangle aprox.20 high by 150 wide. Go to custom shape and pick the heart. Aprox. 80 wide by 75 high. Place it at the top of you rectangle, overlappping a bit. 
Combine these two as single object. Take the path drawing tool again, and use the diamond shape, to make the teeth on the key. Move them around to get the right look. Like this: 
Merge all the objects of the key to single object. Go to Edit, trace, Selection Marquee and click ok. Now change the key to 3D. Same preset as before. Change it now to Continue to draw and with the heart shape, draw a small heart in the center of the top of the key. 
With the transform tool, make your key smaller to suit the heart. Now all we need to do is attach the key to heart . With the outline drawing tool, 3D , same preset, make a tiny circle. Erase the bottom of the circle, and place it on the top of your heart. With the line and arrow tool, color black, width 1 , straight line, make a line from your key to the little half circle at the top of the heart. I tried to make it look like string. Combine the key , string, and half circle as single object, and add a shadow. Now combine all the parts together as single object. Thats it!! All finished. You can decorate the heart as you like.
