Open a new image 300 x 300.
With the path drawing tool 2D , custom shape heart, color green, draw heart.

Right click on the heart and duplicate it two time , so you have three hearts. Line them up like this.

Using the line tool , set the size to 2, and using the spline setting, draw a stem .

Select all, and merge as single object. Duplicate this and drag the new one off by itself . We will use this later to make a shamrock background. Go back to your original shamrock. Make it active by clicking on it, and go to "Edit" , then "Trace" and select "selection marquee". On your top toolbar change the mode to 3 D. Slide the border down a bit until all the edges are smoothed out. Drag the new 3D image off to its own space.

Duplicate the 3D shamrock and with the transform tool, resize, make it smaller. With the erase tool, take off the stem. Place it in the center of the larger shamrock.

With the center of the shamrock active, go to the EasyPalette and click on "fill" and "background textures". You can choose any fill you like . I chose BT86. Right click on the fill box and click on "modify properties and apply" . I changed the size of the pattern a bit, but you can also change the color if you like. Click on "apply to image".

Now you have the center of your shamrock filled with a pattern. To make it look hand stitched, put some stitching around the edges. To do this , go to your paint brush, settings , size 2, color black, soft edge 0, straight lines. Click on the mode button, and make your stitching all around. When you are finished, click on the mode button again, select all objects, and merge as single object. And you now have a lovely little shamrock to dress up any way you like.

Shamrock Background

Remember the 2D shamrock you put away until later? Well, get it out and we'll make a really simple background.
Make it active and with the transfrom tool, make it a lot smaller. Duplicate it two times, and rearrange like this.

Select all of the shamrocks and go to "Formate" and "Highlight Midtone Shadow". When the new window opens, move the slider on the "shadow" up to 75. You should now have this.
Right click on your shamrocks again and go to edit and "crop". Merge all. You now have a shamrock background. Click here to see the full background.
