1.THE HEAD
Open a new image. With the path drawing tool (ellipse)
make a shape for the head. Go to Effect and scroll down to "paint on edge".
Make sure your paint brush is set to size 1, color black , trans. 0, soft edge 0.
2.Make an ellipse shape , very small for the eyes. 3D, color black,
right click and duplicate. Make another ellipse shape for the nose.
Color red, and paint on edges, same setting as in step 1.
3. Click on the head to make it active.( little marching ants all around it).
With your paintbrush tool, size 2 color black, click on "mode", and draw a mouth.
After you have drawn the mouth remember to click on "mode " to exit .You can right click now and
select all objects and "merge as single object.
4. With your paint brush tool , select a peachy color for the cheeks.
size 20 , trans. 67, soft edge 41. Make two rosey cheeks for him.
5.THE HAT. With your paint tool, click on "mode." Settings, size 5, Trans. 0 Soft edge 0 color , green or whatever
you would like. Draw a brim of a hat.
Paint on edges using the same settings as in step number 1. Right click on the brim and select shadow. When the window pops up select the 5th box over.
With the path drawing tool color green, 2 D , make an ellipse for the top of the hat. Paint on edges .Place it behind the brim and the head so
just the top is peeking out. Using the same tools and setting except for change the color to white.. make a tassle for the top of the hat.Paint on
edges. Now right click and select all, merge as single object.
6.THE ARMS.
Path drawing tool, ellipse shape, color white, 2 D. draw a shape like this.
Go to path edit and click on the toggle button. move the nodes around until
it looks like this.
Paint on edges.
7.MITTENS.
Path drawing tool, 2 D , color green, round rectangle. Draw a small shape.
Move the settings for the round effect up to 92. With the eraser tool , remove the round edge of one side.
It should look like this.
With you paint tool, click on mode, make a half circle for the thumb. Also make some lines at the top of the mitten for the cuff.
You should now have an arm and a mitten. Right click and duplicate.
Place them behind the head. like this.
8.The last part of your snowman.:) Path drawing tool, color white, 2 D, draw a large ellipse.
Path edit tool, and move the nodes around a bit until you have this shape.
Paint on edges.
9.SKATES.
Path drawing tool , color dark gray, 2D. Make a rounded rectangle, and a regular rectangle. Put them together like this.
Merge as single object. Paint on edge.

With the paint tool, color black, make some laces for the skates. Select the paint tool and click on "mode", and "straight lines"
Make three lines on the right top of the skate, and two more lines in the corner.
When you have the laces made, go to path drawing tool color black, 2D circle, and make tiny circles
for eyelets. Put them at the top of the laces.With the paint tool again ,make a bow in the top corner of the skate.
11. THE SKATE BLADE. Click on Line tool. Settings, spline, color dark gray, 2 D , line width 6.
Draw a straight line with a curve at the top.
Now draw a retangle shape , same color and put them together like this
Merge as single object, and paint on edges.
Place the blade behind the skate. Merge as single object.Right click and duplicate. Edit, rotate and rotate horizontally. Place it on the other leg.
Merge the skates and the legs together as single object.
Place it behind the head and arms. Click on the head and the arms and if you haven't merged them, do it now.
Right click and add a shadow to this part of the snowman. ( the 5th box over for the shadow).
Now you can merge the whole snowman together. You're all finished.
